Introduction

London is in the south of England. It is a big city. It´s got aproximately 8,500,000 inhabitants.

The climate in london is oceanic. In winter it is very cold and in summer it is mild.

History

London is an old city. It was founded by Brutus of Toy about 1000-1100 B.C after he defeated the native giant Gogmagog. It has a lots of munuments and things to see. London contains four World Heritage Sites: the Tower of London; Kew Gardens; the Palace of Wetminster and Wetminster Abbey. Other famous landmarks include Buchingham Palace, the London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, St Paul´s Cathedral, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square and the Shard. London is home to numerous museums, galleries, libraries, including the British Museum, Natural History Museum and Tate Modern. The London underground is the oldest underground railway network in the world.

Leisure & Entertainment

In London the entertainment district of the West End has its focus around Leicester Square, where London and world film premiers are held, and Piccadilly Circus, eith its giant electronic advertisiments. In London are many cinemas, clubs and restaurants including the China Town. You can shopping in Oxford Street. You can also shopping in Harrods in Knightsbridge.

Industry

London is a popular centre for tourism, one of its prime industries, London attracts over 16 million international visitors per year.

Sport

London has hosted the Summer Olympics three times in: 1908, 1948 and 2012. It was chosen in july 2005 to host the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. London´s most popular sport is football and it has fourteen League football clubs, including five in the Premier League: Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
