Note from the Office
When reporting an absence or late arrival, we will ask you for your child’s name, their teacher’s name and a brief reason for their absence. The direct line for our attendance is 317-915-4248. Even if you email the teacher, you MUST report the absence to the office! Thank you!
Bell Schedule
School Hours 7:40am - 2:10pm
- Car line drop-off begins at 7:30AM and ends at or before 7:40AM.
- Car line pick-up begins at 2:10PM.
- Bus Dismissal begins at 2:10PM.
*If there are no adult staff outside, please come into the office (door 1) to sign your student in or out. A photo ID is required for check out.

Don't Forget Your Mask
- Masks are required for every bus rider, every day.
- Please pack spare masks in your student's backpack. Students sometimes need a fresh mask after lunch, recess, or PE class if they wear their mask all day.
- Lanyards are helpful to keep track of masks. Lanyards must be breakaway for safety.

On the HSE Website, under Food Services tab, there is a link to Meal Viewer for all schools. If you need guidance on what allergens are in each menu item, this is a great resource!

Simply, click on HRE Meal Viewer, using the three lines in the top right corner, select any allergen you are concerned about and Meal Viewer will cross out the menu items that contain the allergen selected. No need to set up an account when accessing Meal Viewer from the Home Page Food Service Tab.
A Message from the Clinic
Please remember to send your student to school healthy. If a student is ill and has any of the symptoms of Covid listed below, we encourage you to get your student tested using a PCR test, which is available via Fishers Health Department (COVID Vaccine | Fishers, IN - Official Website) or the Indiana Department of Health (ISDH - Novel Coronavirus: COVID-19 Testing Information). PCR tests are the most accurate and provide less risk of a false positive or negative result. A visit to your physician is also suggested if you feel this is not Covid-related, then a doctor's note would be needed for your student to return to school. Please do not send your child to school ill or while waiting for Covid test results.
Symptoms to monitor for:
Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of Breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore Throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

BOOK RENTAL AND IPAD FEES
Your child's book and IPad rental fees have been posted. Fees may be paid anytime via EFunds or by sending in a check made out to Hoosier Road Elementary. Be sure to put checks in a sealed envelope and include your student’s name, teacher’s name, and student ID (lunch number). Unfortunately we are unable to process credit or debit cards in the office. All book fees need to be paid in full no later than October 1st, unless payment arrangements have been prearranged with the school treasurer (Jennifer Eichenauer: jeichenauer@hse.k12.in.us).

It's another message from your friendly, neighborhood STEM teacher! I need some things for my class that you may have lying around or can collect instead of throwing away. I would appreciate any help you can provide! I am looking for:
Toilet paper tubes
paper towel tubes
cylinder containers
plastic lids
anything that kids can build with...packing inside of boxes, stuff like that.

Our Rocket Challenge is off to a great start! Let's keep the momentum going to raise funds for new playground equipment.
Help us meet our second benchmark of raising $7,000 by Friday, Sept 24! If we meet that goal, students will have silly sock day on Sept. 29.

2021 Liger XC Mile
The 2021 Liger XC Mile will take place on Thursday, October 14th at Hamilton Southeastern HS!! This race/run/walk is for ALL K- 6th grade students in the Hamilton Southeastern School District. School team scores will be kept for intermediate and elementary schools.
Register Online at RaceRoster.com. Search Liger.
$20 Entry includes a t-shirt with all competitors’ schools on the back! And the always awesome LIGER Logo!! Medals for top 5 finishers in each grade both male and female. Ribbons for all Finishers.
● Online with shirt by Monday Oct 11th, 11:59PM.
● Same day registration available at race site: $25 –limited number of shirts on race day!
Why: To promote health & fitness throughout the district and introduce the lifelong sport of running.
Where: Hamilton SE High School Cross Country Course---South side of the school property adjacent to the tennis courts and soccer fields. Registration/packet pick-up on/near soccer fields, or inside closest school entrance if extremely poor weather.
What: 1-mile Cross Country run for ALL Hamilton Southeastern Schools. K-6th graders. Races will run in succession.
Predicted schedule:
Packet Pick up and same day registration 4:00-5:15PM (Arrive Early! Races will start on time)
5:00 K, 1, 2 Female
5:15 k,1,2 Male
5:30 3,4 Female
5:45 3,4 Male
6:00 5,6 Female
6:15 5,6 Male
The Course: The 1-mile grass course will run the perimeter of the elevated practice fields between the H.S. and Fall Creek Intermediate, including the grassland/prairie area.
Results will be posted at iwant2run.com
Awards Medals for top 5 finishers in each grade, for each male and female. Ribbons for all Finishers.
Mudsock Youth Athletics Updates
Recreational Basketball: Play with us this winter! Registration is open for boys and girls interested in skill development and building a love for the game. Beginning September 1st, a $10 late fee will be added to every registration and waitlists may form for some divisions. Open to kindergarteners through 8th grade. Information and registration can be found here. *High school intramural basketball information will be released in November.
HSE/Fishers Girls Travel Basketball: Find tryout information for travel basketball for girls in 3rd – 8th grade here. Athletes must be registered to attend at www.myathletics.com.
HSE/Fishers Boys Travel Basketball: Find tryout information, including parent meetings, for travel basketball for boys in 3rd – 6th grade here. Athletes must be registered to attend at www.myathletics.com. Everyone Plays.
