Holy Week

Alice in Wonderland

Earlier this month, Grade 8 and 9 students at École Mother Teresa School put on the production Alice in Wonderland. What a great performance showcasing student talent!

Shine - Evening of the Arts

St. Matthew Catholic School in conjunction with St. Dominic Catholic High School hosted Shine - Evening of the Arts. Student talent was displayed around the school in the forms of art, music and drama. What a fantastic evening! We are so blessed to have students with such gifts and aptitude.

Student Vote

Students in Grades 5-12 had the opportunity to make their voice heard on April 16, 2019, by participating in a mock election through a program called Student Vote.

The Student Vote program is conducted in partnership with Elections Alberta, The Alberta Teachers’ Association, the Edmonton Community Foundation, the Calgary Foundation, the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada and is offered at no cost. Participating schools will receive activity guides, campaign posters, electoral division maps, ballots and ballot boxes.

Middle School Faith Day

Grade 8 and 9 students had the opportunity to participate in a middle school faith day. This event allows students to grow in the Catholic faith and become leaders in their schools.

Be the Voice - Grad Service Project

The Grad Service Project at École Secondaire Notre Dame High School to date has raised $45,000 for the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre with the goal of $50,000.

At the beginning of April, over 200 students from École Secondaire Notre Dame High School and St. Francis of Assisi Middle School participated in a Grad Service Project week. During the week, students were involved in a series of challenges help to raise funds.

Discover Kindergarten

Students and their families were invited to River Bend Golf & Recreation Area Club to experience what Kindergarten is all about.

Skills Regionals

On March 28 and 30, students from École Secondaire Notre Dame High School and St. Joseph High School competed in the Central Regional Skills Competition. The medal recipients were:

  • Bronze Medal - Electrical Wiring – Noah Nowochin, Grade 10 student from St. Joseph

  • Bronze Medal – Cabinet Making – Dawson Kennedy, Grade 11 student from École

Secondaire Notre Dame High School

  • Silver Medal - Electrical Wiring – Davan Scott, Grade 12 student from St. Joseph High


  • Gold Medal - Electrical Wiring - Andrew Heidebrecht, Grade 12 student from St. Joseph

High School

Andrew Heidebrecht will move on and compete in the Provincial Skills Competition in Electrical

Wiring on May 8 and 9.

Stations of the Cross

Grade 7 students from across the Division joined Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Stations of the Cross. Students acted out scenarios relating to their own lives and discussed how their faith guides them.
