Annapolis Elementary E-Newsletter
June 2020
A Note from Mrs. Kesecker
Dear Annapolis Elementary Families,
It is with a heavy heart that this is my last Principal message for Annapolis Elementary. I want you all to know how much I have enjoyed being a part of this special community for the past five years. I have learned so much from all of you – staff, parents, students, and community partners. You have provided me with the opportunity to grow not just as a Principal but as a person. I will be forever grateful for your care and support. To be a part of the Annapolis Elementary family is truly a blessing. I will miss each and every one of you; you will forever be close to my heart. Ms. Shelley Hartford will begin her principalship at AES on July 1.
This is the season for change. AES sadly says goodbye to Mrs. Georgan Flavell as she has chosen to retire at the end of this school year. Mrs. Flavell’s years of commitment to the staff, students, and families of AES have been greatly appreciated by the entire AES community. We will miss you, Mrs. Flavell and wish you peace and happiness in retirement.
We also say goodbye to two other staff members. Media Specialist, Jenny Keenan, and 4th Grade Teacher, Katie Hatfalvi, are moving into new adventures in their lives as well. We wish them much success in the future.
While there is no replacement for these wonderful ladies, we welcome Ms. Jennifer Williams to second grade and Ms. Jenifer Garcia as Media Specialist.
While the faces of Annapolis Elementary will be changing, what will not change is the love, care, and commitment to the students. AES is a very tight community that I am sure will remain strong in the years to come.
As we close in on the last student day, Thursday, June 18, please ensure that you continue to keep your student engaged and participating in his or her Google Classroom. I am so proud of all the student (and TEACHER) accomplishments during e-learning.
It is my hope that you will keep in touch after I leave AES. I would love to continue to celebrate in your students’ successes. I wish you all a wonderful, safe, happy, and healthy summer.
In Partnership,
Mrs. Bobbie Kesecker
Principal, Annapolis Elementary

Out-of-Area Requests
As a reminder, if you are at Annapolis Elementary on an Out-of-Area request, you must renew that request by submitting the appropriate paperwork found here: https://www.aacps.org/Page/1084
If your child already attends AES as an out-of-area approved student, you must complete a new application each school year. The continuation of a previous year out-of-area is not automatic, and the application must be submitted to the school during the out-of-area application window.
Your request, even if for continuation, must be submitted to me at bkesecker@aacps.org by June 15.

Grade Level Information for 2020-2021
In the coming school year, there will be 2 classes per grade level EXCEPT 4th grade and Pre-K where there will only be one classroom.
Teachers and staff look at multiple factors when creating class lists for the coming school year. As such, please know that AES does not honor specific teacher requests.
Supply Lists
At the time of this writing, we do not yet know what school will look like in the fall. We are preparing two supply lists, one for regular school and one for e-learning. Once we know what the fall brings, those lists will be posted on the AES website.
Summer Hours
If and when summer office hours are confirmed, they will be posted on the AES website and on the doors around the building.
