Social Media Test Drive Research Opp
Social Media TestDrive is an online educational program that offers a number of modules about key digital citizenship topics, such as identifying and managing advertisements in social media, smart self-presentation, upstanding to cyberbullying, and news literacy. The Cornell Social Media Lab is conducting a series of studies to see how well Social Media TestDrive works.
How does the study work?
Study participants will be assigned to either an intervention group or a comparison group. Participants assigned to the intervention group will complete 4 Social Media TestDrive modules. Participants assigned to the comparison group will not complete Social Media TestDrive modules as part of the study but can once the study is complete. Participants from both groups will complete surveys. Our team will compare the survey responses of participants from both groups to see if those who completed Social Media TestDrive modules showed higher levels of social media literacy.
How you can help:
We need educators and their classes/youth groups to participate! If you are interested in participating in this study, please email smtdevaluation@gmail.com or Mandy Purington at ald17@cornell.edu. We can give you more details about the study and answer any questions you have. This study is running now through the fall.
As a thank-you, we will give each participating educator a $75 Amazon gift card!
If you have any questions, Kelly has been participating!
