Have you embraced technology with open arms to the point where you are never without your cell phone? Do “likes” and “comments” control your emotions? Are you a different person on and offline? Is your love of technology potentially hindering your health? Social media is a powerful tool--check out the video below with some compelling statistics about how prevalent it is in our world today. And while it is a powerful tool, social media is also to blame for many diagnoses of depression. If your entire life is wrapped up in what other people online think of you, you may need to #starttoday and focus on the world right in front of you.
The beauty of finding your balance is that if you have chosen some goals we have encouraged---for example, you are getting more exercise, working on your academic goals, and chasing your passion--you may have already found more balance in your life.
While your school’s ITRTs are all in favor of the powerful uses for technology, even we have to take a break and go outside! We suggest you #starttoday and do the same.
