Parent Communication
As the first parent/student/teacher conferences come to a close, we want to thank you for your support in the education process. Children’s success in school is highly reliant on the work of the whole team that includes the teachers, parents, and students themselves. Student led conferences offer an opportunity to celebrate achievements and create new goals. We urge you to view the communication process with your child’s teacher as being open throughout the year and not just during conference time. Please read teacher newsletters, visit teacher websites, and review student work. If you have concerns or questions regarding your child’s progress, don’t hesitate to initiate conversation with the teacher at any time of the year. Teachers welcome parent input, and we all recognize that student outcomes are strongest when open communication and teamwork are consistent, timely, and direct.

Car Line Drop-Off Safety Reminder
It is essential to the safety of our students that cars wait in the drop-off line during morning arrival. Cars have been observed pulling around one another in an effort to exit more quickly. We understand that families are pressed for time in making appointments or getting to work; however, we must insist that all cars wait in line and exit with the consistent flow of traffic that pulls all the way around our car drop-off curb area. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Keep Dogs at a Distance
We recognize that picking up your child from school offers a nice chance to walk the dog. Issues have been arising related to dogs being in our dismissal area. Our students with special needs along with students who have a fear of dogs have shown increased anxiety around the growing number of dogs who are coming along with parents to walk students home from school. If you must walk your dog to school when escorting your child home, please stay by the drive-way entrance beyond where students are exiting the building and loading buses. Thank you for attention to this request.
