FMS News
April 3rd, 2020
Dear FMS Families,
Thank you again for all your support as school has closed. We've put together a newsletter that includes all of the resources the district has put together to best support you during this time.
Our goal during the time that we are closed is to provide review, reinforcement and enrichment of the curricular material we've already gone over this quarter while, most importantly, maintaining and strengthening relationships. Beginning next week, you will hear from our staff at least once a week and your students will hear from teachers 2-3 times a week. Please encourage your child to reply back to staff. Staff will make personal calls if we haven't heard from a student or family member at the end of the week. If a teacher isn't able to contact a family, Ms. Hogan or myself will make a call. Teachers will be reaching out online, but we also have compiled non-tech resources for those without Internet access. We are still waiting on hotspots to be delivered and will get more direction from the district on distributing those to families that may need them. Please email bhouf@fulton58.org if you would need a hotpost.
If you have technology issues during this time, please email Dan Hedgpath for assistance. dhedgpath@fulton58.org Just a reminder that Ms. Hogan and I still get GoGuardian and Bark alerts for inappropriate content on Chromebooks. Please remind your students to search and email appropriately. Thank you!
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything. Times are challenging right now, but we are still here to support you. We also know that our plan may need to be tweaked after working through it. We will adjust as we go. This is definitely an unprecedented time and patience and grace will get us a long way.
We are honored to serve the best middle schoolers in the state. Thank you again for all you do!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Houf and Ms. Hogan
