5Essentials Survey
When is says "Principal" does that refer to just Lenayn or does it include Sunny or Erin or Bob?
- For the most part it refers to Lenayn when questions address culture and climate, but when it comes to questions like, my principal reviews data with me, I would include Sunny and Erin into these types of questions as they work with teams to review data.
What does "leadership" mean?
- This would include the administrative team and also teacher leaders. This does not have to be limited to BLT members but can include leadership from any member of the staff as well.
What is the difference between special programs and program?
- I would look at this in a multiple of ways. Not sure what the folks at 5E are specifically asking but this is how I would look at it. I would consider this to be more related to curriculum, instruction and assessment. Are we switching up curriculum resources constantly. Also, it would include tech resources as well such as Edgenuity and Lexia.
What does inservice mean?
- This would include the 1-2 days before school starts, early release days, CIA meetings and information shares. Really any time we have to be at work without students collaborating to improve curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
We will be taking the 5E survey this Friday. I will be available to answer questions as you are taking the survey. Please ask if you have questions.

5Essentials Survey
The 5E survey results will directly impact our ESSA designation in 2018-19. I will be taking some time in January to clarify any misconceptions and ensure that everyone shares an understanding of the questions being asked. You may receive an email request to take the 5E survey, soon. I am asking that you please wait to take the survey. We are planning a date to take the survey together on February 1 during our early release day - so that I am available to answer questions you may have as you are taking the survey.

TECH, ART, MUSIC COLLABORATION SCHEDULE
Please access this spreadsheet to share topics or ideas your grade level will be working on. It will help Peggy, Brenda, and Katie know what you're doing in class so they can help coordinate and plan thematic activities in their classes. It's also a great way for grade levels to collaborate with each other and buddy up for combined activities!
