Class of 2021
Senior Newsletter - January
Message from the Principal...
Hello Seniors!
With 6 months to go until June, we fully realize that everyone is getting excited and looking for answers regarding what graduation will look like this year.
We are exploring alternative venue options as backup plans in case the Tacoma Dome turns out not to be available for graduation ceremonies due to health department guidelines. Please know that we will do whatever we can to make graduation special and unique for the Class of 2021.
We will continue to communicate with students and families whenever we have news to share. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Mr. Goodwin
Principal

Complete your High School & Beyond Plan
Log into Xello via HelloID and complete the 12th grade lessons. Xello is a great way to figure out what your next steps should be, based on your goals and career pathway after high school. How well do you know yourself? Should you go to college, get a job, join the military or join an apprenticeship program?
If you have any questions or need help with this task, contact your Counselor or Mrs. Nass A.S.A.P.
Request your transcript today
Send it to yourself and see what it looks like. Senior Grades matter!
It is not uncommon for colleges to contact students for an explanation if they see a drop in grades or rigor of coursework.
Visit the high school website https://skhs.skschools.org/students/transcript_request and follow directions to create your account in Parchment. This is how you access and transfer your transcript to any college of further education or military recruiter. Now and in the future.
Make sure to enter your SKHS student ID number and enter “2021” for the Grad/Leave Yr.
You will find a link to video tutorials and answers to FAQs online. If you still have questions, email: SKHSRegistrar@skschools.org
Make sure you don't owe any fines or fees
Fines or Fees hold up the release of official transcripts and receipt of your final diploma.
Check your balance and/or make a payment online by clicking HERE
The ASB office is currently open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
We accept cash, checks (made payable to: "SKHS") and credit cards.
The cardholder MUST BE PRESENT and show photo ID at the time of transaction.
If you have any questions or concerns about your student account, please contact Mrs. Robinson in the ASB office at 360-874-5610 or by Email at: robinsont@skschools.org
On Campus Parking
If you will be parking on campus when in-person classes start, you will need a parking permit. For security and liability reasons your vehicle must be registered with the Security Office at the high school. There will be no charge for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:
- Signed Parking Contract (parent signature is required, even if you are 18.)
- Current Washington state driver’s license
- Proof of registration for your vehicle
- Proof of insurance for your vehicle
Click on the link below for instructions and to download the Student Parking Contract.
https://skhs.skschools.org/students/student_parking
Paperwork should be turned in, and permits will be issued, beginning the first day of Flex learning. (Parking fines will not be enforced during the first week on campus).
File your fafsa for any type of college or trade school
In Washington, there are two different applications for financial aid, but you only need to file one:
- File the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) if you are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- File the WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) if you are not eligible to complete the FAFSA due to immigration status.
You should apply for financial aid as soon after October 1 as possible. Do not wait until you are admitted to apply.
You do not need to know whether or where you plan to go to school or what programs you might be interested in to file for financial aid.
Awards are made until funds are depleted.
