Lexile
Here is a great resource from Lexile.com about how to support reading at home
https://lexile.com/parents-students/tools-to-support-reading-at-home/
This is a way for readers to find books that fit within their Lexile range
All is all, we want students to read what they love. We want them building stamina and strength, too. We know that reading books that are way below their Lexile won’t help them “muscle up.” Reading 0 books? No good!

Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon
"Maddy (Amandla Stenberg) is a smart, curious and imaginative 18-year-old who is unable to leave the protection of the hermetically-sealed environment within her house because of an illness. Olly (Nick Robinson) is the boy next door who won't let that stop them from being together. Gazing through windows and talking only through texts, Maddy and Olly form a deep bond that leads them to risk everything to be together, even if it means losing everything."
Illegal by Eoin Colfer
"This achingly poignant graphic novel by Colfer and Donkin, collaborators on the Artemis Fowl graphic novels, imagines how one Ghanaian orphan ends up adrift in the Mediterranean. Ebo’s older sister Sisi is already in Europe, and he knows his brother Kwame is headed there, too, so Ebo sets out to find him."
Slider by Pete Hautman
"David can eat an entire sixteen-inch pepperoni pizza in four minutes and thirty-six seconds. Not bad. But he knows he can do better. In fact, he’ll have to do better: he’s going to compete in the Super Pigorino Bowl, the world’s greatest pizza-eating contest, and he has to win it, because he borrowed his mom’s credit card and accidentally spent $2,000 on it. So he really needs that prize money. Like, yesterday."
