Donovan Digest- Week of Oct. 27th
October Staff news...
A few important notes
Several "Adopt a Classroom" forms have been submitted to the PTO. This Wednesday is the last day to send your list to Mrs. Briggs/Mrs. Mariconda
For the first time ever....I am taking a half day to see my kids on Halloween!! I have never seen a Halloween parade with either of my kids in it. Elementary days are flying so I am grabbing the opportunity before it is lost forever. You know that I only believe in beautiful weather for our LDS events...but in the event that the day is pouring....we will simply parade the halls....no parents. Since we walk on blacktop/sidewalks only---we will be outdoors unless it is down pouring. Please remind your students again that weapons and frightening masks will not be permitted.
Almost November...whoa!!!
Windows, mirrors and sliding doors into the life of Ian.
Check out this moving movie short "Ian" as it shares a great message for students and provides a window, mirror & sliding glass door to promoting tolerance and equity.
November- Kindness Bulletin Board/Fall Door Decorating
Please remember we would love to beautify with our "Fall Door Decorating Contest" (voluntary) Feel free to put your creative class parents to work! All doors should be complete by November 6th. We will vote when we return from TC weekend.
Report Cards
Please use your November ATM to print report cards prior to them going home. A letter will be placed in your mailbox to accompany the report cards with information about SB grading and explaining that the envelopes should be signed and returned each MP. Please keep track of anyone who does not return and reach out.
Over the past few years, an eye opener is the number of parents who no longer open or review their child''s report card. Whether it is the fact that it is all paperless/digital or perhaps a lack of understanding of S.B.R.C. our goal is to bring back opportunities for families to review, celebrate, understand and have meaningful conversations with kids about these attaining goals as well as goal setting based on areas of need. Hard copies of report cards will be going home each marking period in the provided envelopes.

Lunchroom & Morning Welcome
Also, please stand outside your classroom doors each morning to offer a morning welcome greeting until your students have arrived.
These tiny gestures truly can make a huge difference in the day of each of our students, and set them up for success!! Thank you so much!
