Benfield Family Newsletter
October 7, 2022
Greetings Benfield Families!
This month, Benfield will participate in Harvest for the Hungry. In years past, our school has been very generous with food and monetary donations. I know we will do a great job again this year! Below are some special days set aside to bring in certain types of food:
- Friday, October 14th Fruity Friday - wear bright colors and bring in canned fruit
- Monday, October 17th Multi-Pack Monday - bring in items that go together (ie: Peanut butter and jelly) (no glass please)
- Friday, October 21st Wake up and Veg Out Day - wear comfy clothes and bring in canned vegetables.
- Tuesday, October 25th "Meat" the Need Day - bring in canned meat products (chicken, tuna, Spam)
- Friday, October 28th "Soup-er Bowl Day" wear your favorite sports jersey and bring in some soup

Car Riders
We start letting students into the building at 7:45 a.m. Car riders should arrive before 8:00 a.m. With announcements beginning at 8:00 a.m. and instruction beginning at 8:05 a.m., we want all our Benfield Bulldogs ready for the day. Students arriving after 8:00 a.m. are considered tardy and will need to come to the office to get a pass to class.
Looking Ahead

PTO Updates
Our PTO membership drive is being extended for ONE MORE WEEK! Currently, we are at 80% of our school registered for the PTO. Benfield’s Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is one of our school’s greatest assets and helps provide our children with the best educational experiences possible! Please consider joining if you haven’t already done so! Although there are many volunteer opportunities available, joining the PTO doesn’t mean you’re obligated to volunteer!
Congratulations to Mrs. Honarvar’s class for reaching 100% participation. Her class will earn 10 extra minutes of recess and a popsicle party! Mrs. Honarvar will also receive a $50 Amazon gift card to help with classroom supplies.
Other top classrooms are:
DeLeon (Kindergarten)- 96%
Smith (4th grade)- 96%
Saft (3rd grade)- 95%
