Growing hearts and minds for a better today and tomorrow: every day, every way, every one.
Principal's Message
Dear families,
I am excited to announce some changes for next year. Current Kindergarten teacher, Kaylie Bufano, will become our instructional coach. Kaylie is a beloved and master teacher. We are looking forward as a faculty to have her expertise help us all grow to make the biggest impact for our learners.
Kellie Nerbak has been a Kindergarten paraeducator for 7 years here at Hiawatha. She is an integral part of the Kindergarten team, and we are lucky to have her stepping into a new role! Kellie will be our new Kindergarten teacher.
Marcy Morgan, current first grade teacher, will join the third grade team next year. Her passion for literacy, equity and thematic teaching will be a welcomed addition to this team.
Julie Furniss, current third grade teacher, will join the first grade team. Her expertise in literacy and building foundational skills will greatly benefit our younger students.
I hope everyone enjoys the warmer weather and sunshine this weekend!
Katherine

Message from Mr. Evans
-Mr. Evans
After voting for their favorite Red Clover book last week, ALL K-3 Hiawatha students traced their hands to make a community inspired bulletin board celebrating kindness and the change of seasons.
News from the gym!
2nd and 3rd graders have recently learned how to play games like Capture the Flag and Kingpin. They are having a lot of success with strategies and teamwork. Kindergarteners and 1st graders stayed active and engaged in activities, such as Alligator Island, Coneheads and Lowball.
Over the past few weeks in Health class, students have learned about the importance of taking care of our environment. We focused on reducing, reusing and recycling.
