What can you learn for "Please stop laughing at me"?
Theme
The theme of "please stop laughing at me" is to never let people get the best of you. No one should be treated the way that Jodee's peers treated her. She tried to make the best of it, ignoring it and pushing through her high schools years and wrote a book on her experience. She didn't let anyone get to her and she made something out of herself, by showing people there not alone.
A powerful quote
My favorite quote mentioned in the book is "you don't get to pick who you are in this life, but you can decide what you become". I think this quote is important to know because in your life you may experience a lot of battles but it will always get better and you can always change what's happening.
Conflict/ Resolution
The conflict Jodee faces is character vs. character. The characters she is facing is her peers at the schools she goes to. They physically and mentally abused her for no reason other than sticking up for themselves.
Jodee's solution to her problem is she tries to move schools and make new friends, and when that didn't work for her she decided to push though for her last years and trying to keep herself on the down low and not say anything.
