The Preamble of the Constitution
The Preamble to the United States
We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.
What It Means to Me
The citizens of the United States, in order to create a better country, protect our rights, keep peace in the country, work together to defend our nation, encourage what is good for everyone, and protect the freedom for ourselves and our future generations, create and approve this constitution for the USA.
How it Applies to Me
The constitution still applies to me because I was born and raised in America. Over 200 years after the founding of our country, it still protects the country I live in. It strives to keep peace among it's citizens, protects our country against the terrorist acts of others, and fights for the freedoms of the current and future generations of Americans.
