MLK Jr. Day of Service is COMING SOON!
MLK Day of Service
Campuses across GCISD are coming together this January to support local families through donations to GRACE. The entire community will participate in this endeavor by donating requested items from January 5-14 and during drive-thru events at GHS and CHHS on Monday, January 17 in honor of the MLK Day of Service.Bear Creek Elementary will be collecting SALT AND PEPPER. We will have a box at the front if you’d like to drop off your donation at school.
Baby It's Cold Outside......Please send your child with a jacket everyday!
PLEASE Read with your Child Everyday!
Why do we practice reading?......TO BECOME A BETTER READER!!!
If you are new to the district, you will be given a GCISD ipad and charger for student use in the near future. Students will bring ipads every single day and take them home every day.
PLEASE make sure your child has Fully CHARGED and Working Headphones EVERYDAY.
Headphones are very important to have at school every day with their charged iPad. 1st graders take many assessments on the iPad and need headphones in order to complete the assessment.
Afternoon Pick Up-
Thank you so much for helping us out with the blue pick up signs
IF you NEED another sign or a few, please contact your child's teacher.
Library books are students free choice.
Please feel free to read the book to them or have them read to you. Library books are usually not on the student's text level and would not be a good nightly read for every student to read to an adult.. But students love hearing someone read to them. This demonstrates reading fluently and let's them learn the enjoyment reading and learning can bring! So PLEASE keep reading to your child!
