Weekly Notes
Early release this Wednesday (go make a bird feeder at AK Coastal studies!). No school next Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.
Thanks to everyone who brought back fundraisers. I spent the weekend in Kenai at a training and have gotten another free mission to help defray costs for the spring trip. For planning purposes, we are looking at $50-60 per student for the spring trip... more info to come later.
Head start is coming over this week to do some buddy reading with our class and we are looking at joining them for a field trip to the ice rink in December 3rd from 10:30 - 11:30. We need drivers for 26. Leave here at 10:05 and return by noon. Let me know if you are able to help out. This is a sponsored trip and will be free to our students.
Congratulations to our two citizenship award recipients, Lilly and Karmyn. They both spend their recesses working with 3rd grade math students and are both wonderful at their job. Their help in making West Homer a better school is appreciated by all.
NURSE'S NOTES
Winter has arrived. To stay safe and warm, the kids need to be wearing proper winter gear. The school policy is to have the students go outside unless the temperature goes below -10 degrees F. Frostbite is always a concern and hypothermia is a reality.
We realize kids lose their gloves, hats and even their jackets and it can be quite expensive to replace these items. If you are unable to replace or provide winter gear for your child, please let us know and we will do our best to help.
