Carver Middle School Newsletter

March 29, 2020

Principal's Message

Greetings Carver MS,

Hopefully this newsletter finds every household in our community in the best of health. We will have office hours again on Tuesday from 8 am -1 pm for families who do not have access to the internet. If your student has access to the internet to complete assignments you do not need to pick up paper copies of assignment.

Thank you for your warm reception of the Cougar Den. Please continue to utilize our online learning lab to access your student's curriculum. Please use this site to access assignments and enrichment activities during our second week of remote learning. Please reach out to me if you have issues with access to the site.

Next week, April 6-13 is Spring Break in CCPS. New assignments will be provided to students beginning April 14. My next newsletter will be distributed on April 13, 2020.

Although we are out of school our spirit is alive! Please see the schedule below and participate along with our students in Carver spirit week 2020!

ENCOURAGE OUR COUGARS TO READ DAILY!

Studies show that thirty minutes of Reading per day day can improve social, emotional and brain development!

ACCELERATED READER is open for students to take quizzes from home, 8:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M. each day. Students are on their honor to follow the same rules for taking a quiz at home as at school (please don't use the book while taking a quiz).

Here is the link: https://hosted340.renlearn.com/32607/

Please visit the Carver Library Libguides page where you will currently find resources, Accelerated Reader information, and more. In the near future, reading challenges, read alouds, and more resources will be added. http://libguides.ccpsnet.net/c.php?g=517494

Students have access to MACKIN VIA from their dashboard (my.ccpsnet.net) for ebooks.

Many new titles will be added to the platform very soon, as an order was just placed!
