Turn 2 Foundation
Established by Derek Jeter in 1996
Purpose
The Turn 2 Foundation was established by Yankee's shortstop Derek Jeter in 1996. The main purpose is to steer kids in the right direction and help them live a healthy lifestyle. The program guides kids mainly from alcohol and drugs and promotes leadership, academic excellence, and positive behaviors. The organization works at making outlets where kids can "Turn 2".
How?
- Create "special programs" that guide children towards a healthy lifestyle
- Fund organizations that prevent and treat teen drug abuse
- Hold events where Derek Jeter directly speaks to the youth
- Raise awareness about the importance of practicing good behaviors everyday

Achievements
Since the start in December 1996 the foundation has awarded more than $20 million to create and support signature programs and promote healthy living to thousands of youths.
