Observational Rotations
Observational rotations are an opportunity for associates to see different aspects of healthcare in a one-on-one setting. This experience really helps influence the pathway the associates will follow after CAPS and further enhance their mission in healthcare. These rotations could not be possible without our business partners providing these opportunities and sharing their expertise. Hands-On Learning Associates practiced placing an intraosseous infusion (IO) on a egg. Intraosseous infusion (IO) is the process of injecting directly into the marrow of a bone. This technique is used to provide fluids and medication when intravenous access is not available or not feasible. | Hands-on Learning Associate learned how to stabilize an airway. BJC Better Breathers Community Outreach
Mr. Sacre’s class had the opportunity to see the BJC Community Outreach through the Better Breathers group. While attending the outreach meeting, the associates learned about seasonal triggers for those with a variety of chronic breathing conditions, such as asthma, COPD, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.
