Health effects

According to the EPA, Air Quality directly affects people with asthma or other lung diseases. Air pollution can make people have medical issues and damaged lungs for the rest of their lives. This is something everyone needs to be aware of. The pollution of harmful gases will damage your health and increase your risk for many diseases.

Reduce the impact

Dr Penny Woods, chief executive of the British Lung Foundation (BLF), said: “To reduce the impact, people who find their health affected can take simple steps such as avoiding busy roads, especially during rush hour, and refraining from strenuous exercise outside.” We should all be trying these ways, it will keep us happier and healthier. Air pollution is a dangerous thing we need to take control of.

Fixing the problem

  • Limit driving by carpooling, using public transportation, biking, or walking
  • Run dishwashers and clothes washers only when full
  • Seal containers of house hold cleaners, workshop chemicals and solvents, and garden chemicals to prevent compounds from evaporating into the air
  • Choose environmentally friendly cleaners
  • Conserve energy- turn off lights, computers and other appliances when not in use
