New Procedure for Signing in and Signing Out

We are streamlining our process for signing students in and out! If your student is signing in late or you are signing them out early, make sure you have your smart phone, and follow these steps:

  • Scan the QR code by the front door
  • Complete the Google form that pops up on your phone
  • If you are signing out your student, have your photo ID ready! (And a heads-up call to the office is always appreciated, so we have enough time to locate students if they are at recess, in specials, at lunch, etc)
  • Ring the bell and our office staff will assist you

Thanks for your patience and cooperation as we implement this new method!

News From Nutrition Services

Welcome Back to Food and Fun!!

Hello, and welcome back to what we think will be a fantastic year!

There is an all new kitchen team this year - we are Mrs. Beth and Ms. Tawnya. We are so excited to be at Berthoud Elementary and to get to know each of your kiddos! Please give us a few weeks to get over the beginning bumps until everything is running smoothly!!

There are a few changes this year to be aware of:

  • Breakfast and lunch will no longer free.
  • Breakfast is $1.75
  • Lunch is $3.00
  • Milk $1.00 (Milk or juice is included in a meal)

The easiest way to pay for your child’s lunch is through My School Bucks. Click here to go to My School Bucks and set up an account. This allows you to keep tabs on your child’s account and you can even set up an automatic draft if you'd like.

You are also welcome to send in cash or checks as well. Please make checks out to Berthoud Elementary and have your child’s name and grade on it. According to new district rules, we will no longer be able to give ANY cash back for anything. If you child brings us a $5.00 bill for lunch, $3.00 will be used to pay for the lunch and the remaining $2.00 will go onto their lunch account for future food purchases.

If you’d like to apply for “free or reduced lunches” click here. This is kept strictly confidential! Kids on free/reduced my not use lunch account funds for any Ala Carte purchases or seconds on anything, including milk.

If you have any questions, our direct phone number is (970) 613-7508. Please feel free to leave a message as we will likely be busy preparing your kiddos food but we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

Thank you and we look forward to seeing all the bright faces!

Mrs. Beth and Ms. Tawnya

Don't Forget Those Water Bottles!

Parents, please help your student remember to bring their water bottle to school! Drinking plenty of water keeps our cells hydrated, which helps our brains and keeps us energized. Fill up those bottles and send them to school each day! We have filtered water stations throughout the school for re-filling during the day.

Pick up/drop off

We have almost 500 students attending BES this year, including many new families. It is extremely important that students are being dropped off/picked up safely. Please familiarize yourself with this map and follow the instructions of our crosswalk/duty helpers. We have had kids walking through the parking lot and bus zone with cars driving by and the last thing any of us want is a tragedy. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
