Did you know...?

Please ask your son or daughter about some of the cool things we've been doing in class!

This year we've learned a lot about healthy eating, exercise, identifying emotions, and recently we even spent some time looking at household budgets and how much it might cost students to live on their own.

We had a great time boxing in the fall and early winter and definitely learned how to throw a solid punch... at a punching bag :)

Students also created road maps last month that trace where they have been in the last few years, where they are now (and how far they've come), and where they want to go. The focus here is on positive thinking and really taking a look at the things and people that can help them achieve their goals.

Recently, some students have been working on clay sculptures of monsters they designed. They are turning out to be really neat creations!

Soon we will start working on career and personality assessments and we will show the students how to look for summer employment. Perhaps once their resumes are complete, you can support their job searches at home.

We will also investigate summer programs and activities that your son or daughter may choose to get involved in. We'll keep you posted!
