CBE Parent Newsletter
September 8, 2020
A Message from Mrs. Brown
Hello CBE families,
Happy Tuesday! I am sure that by now, most of you have completed the survey and made the decision whether or not your children will transition to face to face instruction or will remain in the online environment. The survey will close today at 4:30pm and I have included the link below.
I know this is stressful time for families and you may have concerns about how school will look going forward. Please know that all of us at CBE are committed to providing all students an authentic and productive school experience regardless of the learning platform your family chooses.
Open House will be on Thursday evening, September 10th, with two 30 minutes sessions for each grade level and a follow up session with administration. Teachers will be sharing specific information about grade level curriculum and academic performance expectations. Please understand that the classroom teachers may not be able to give details about face to face and the new plan for virtual instruction. Those are details that we will be working through over the next few days. If you have specific questions about your child's situation, please feel free to email me.
You can expect to hear more information from me later this week or early next week with specific information regarding the transition. I encourage you to tune in to the FBISD Board meeting on Wednesday at 6:00pm so you have the most current information from the district.
September 9, 2020: Special Called Meeting
Sincerely,
Stacy M. Brown
Important Action Needed
Parents, action is required to complete the Learning Model Selection Process in Skyward Family Access by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8.
For more information, please visit www.fortbendisd.com/relaunch.
Learning Model Selection Process (September 3-8)
A critical step in this planning is determining how many families plan to send their students to campuses for face-to-face instruction, or, as an alternative, will select 100 percent online instruction. This information will be used as Fort Bend ISD campuses and departments implement all health and safety protocols, develop student and teacher schedules, and plan toward the phased transition to face-to-face instruction.
During the Learning Model Selection Process from September 3 – 8, parents will choose the student learning model that best meets their needs. As part of the process, parents will also acknowledge receipt of the Student Code of Conduct and the Student Parent Handbook. Learning model selection will close on September 8 at 4:30 p.m. to allow time for student schedule development.
Note: Any student who does not have a selection form completed will default to face-to-face learning for planning purposes. As per TEA guidance, parents may elect to change student learning models a minimum of two weeks prior to each grading period.

The student experience in a Reimagined Learning Environment
Fort Bend ISD will have comprehensive health and safety protocols in place, and instruction will look and feel different as students and staff engage in face to face instruction.
This series of videos has been developed to help our stakeholders prepare for a reimagined learning environment. We appreciate your continued support and cooperation as we work to ensure the safety or our students and staff.

Immunization Requirements
We are making it our mission to keep our staff and our Lion community safe during this time. As students are phased back on campus it is imperative that your child(ren) are up to date on their vaccines. E-mails and calls will be sent out daily for non-compliant students. Please be aware if your child(ren) is non-compliant with their immunizations they will not be able to attend face to face class until an updated immunization record is obtained. You can email or fax me the updated record.
