Medication at school
Just as a reminder, students are not allowed to carry any medication, except for prescribed emergency medication. All medication to be administered at school must have a form on file with the school nurse and signed by the parent/guardian and prescribing physician.Students may not transport their own medication to school, with the exception of those students self carrying emergency medication with a signed form on file. If you have any questions about medications, please contact Nurse Rose.
To prevent the spread of flu and other illnesses, please do not send your child to school if they are sick. Students who have had a temperature over 100.5 should be fever free for 24 hours without taking fever reducing medicine, like Tylenol, before they return to school.
Remind students to practice good hand hygiene by using hand sanitizers or hand washing frequently throughout the day.
School nurses are only allowed to administer medication with written authorization from a parent or guardian. If you haven’t completed a consent for your student, please contact Nurse Rose at annie.tinch@bgreen.kyschools.us.
