There are many breathing techniques out there. We are sharing some here that you can try. Like everything else we do, regulating our breath takes practice sometimes. This is especially true if this is your first time trying. It's okay if you don't feel calmer right away. We encourage you to try a couple different breathing techniques and choose one that feels most comfortable to you. Maybe makes this a practice that you do each day at a certain time. Try it for as little or as much time as you need.
Breathing techniques can be used throughout our lives - from times when we are are stressed before a test to when we're upset with a family member or friend.
Parents: You may be feeling overwhelmed right now as well. These breathing techniques can be used by adults too! Everyone needs a minute to themselves to re-center.
