Not Feeling Well?
We want our mustangs at school everyday, but if your child is running a fever of 100.2+ or they have vomiting/diarrhea please stay home and get well. If your child is sick, please call 806-426-3317 to report your child absent.
If your child has a doctor's appointment during the day, it is always a good plan to come to school for as much time as you can. Simply check out/check in and bring back a doctor's note when you return. This helps make sure your student is counted correctly for attendance.
From the Principal's Desk
Our year is off to a great start! August brought the excitement of new beginnings as well as the continuance of building rich tradition. I look forward to watching all things Wildorado unfold! Parents, teachers, coaches, board of trustees, and other community members, thank you for supporting our students in all they do in the pursuit of excellence! Please don't hesitate to reach out if I can help you and your student in any way.
Love,
Mrs. Williams
HOCO 2023
Help us celebrate HoMeCoMiNg on the 15th! We will be showing our school spirit all week long with dress up days and a pep rally on Friday.
The whole community is invited to a dinner and Lighting of the W on September 14th. Dinner starts at 7:00...can't wait to see you there!
Counselor's Corner
As a school counselor I wear many hats, but one of my major goals is to support every child every day. If you have any concerns about your child or notice they are having a difficult time please do not hesitate to reach out. As part of my role to help students be successful, I love teaching whole group lessons on social and emotional wellbeing and helping teachers with lessons they can use in the classroom to continue to support our student’s growth. Additionally, I work with small groups to help students strengthen certain social emotional skills, meet with students individually on a short-term basis, and can assist in helping with longer term support. I am excited to help make this school year the best one yet!
Together in Learning,
Mrs. Randolph
Helping Students Be Rested and Ready
Getting enough sleep is critical for a child to be successful in school. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention provides research showing that Children and adolescents who do not get enough sleep have a higher risk for many health problems, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, poor mental health, and injuries. They are also more likely to have attention and behavior problems, which can contribute to poor academic performance in school. As we began the fall season, it can become a challenge to juggle a consistent bedtime routine with sports, livestock, and all the other fun festivities.
The Sleep Foundation has a great article on a healthy sleep routine for the whole family. Check it out below!

Dyslexia Update
This school year will bring about some exciting changes within our Dyslexia program. As we meet during your students regular ARD or 504 annual meeting, we will be discussing your child's progress, your child's participation in our MTA program (our specially designed instruction), and how the committee (this includes you) feels the best growth can continue to happen. If you would like to discuss the new house bill and how it may impact your child sooner, please feel free to reach out anytime. I am here to help and walk beside you through this change. My number is 806-426-3317 and my email is janet.randolph@wildoradoisd.org.
A few Notes from TEA:
- House Bill 3928 was passed by the 88th Texas Legislature (Regular Session) and impacts dyslexia evaluation, identification, and instruction. While the agency works to update the necessary materials, be aware that the law is effective immediately.
- If a student has been identified as a student with dyslexia and has been determined to need an evidence-based dyslexia program or other SDI (MTA program), then the student qualifies for special education and related services under IDEA as a student with an SLD for dyslexia.
Below are a few links including a short video regarding the new house bill, the dyslexia handbook (same from years past), and a great resource we use at school called Learning Ally. Learning Ally can also be used at home and information about this program will be coming home soon. Talking books is another resource parents can use to help students who qualify.
