Yearbook Cover Contest
We are inviting all Parker Whitney Students to enter their drawings in our Yearbook Cover Contest. Two winners will be selected (one from K-2 and one from 3-6 grades) to be displayed on the front and back cover.
Flyer will come home this week and all entries are due November 15th.
Attendance
Research indicates that attendance is one of the main predictors of student achievement. An average of 13 absences each year will result in missing an entire year's worth of instruction by the time a student graduates high school. Missing school also increases feelings of anxiety and stress.
Please attempt to schedule outside activities after school hours or on non-school days. If you know your student will be out for 5 days or more, please contact the office to create an independent study contract.
Illness - If your child is running a temperature of 99.6 or higher, vomiting or has diarrhea, they may not attend school until they are free of these symptoms for at least 24 hours. This is to prevent the spread of illness to others.
Socktober - Final Count
We blew our goal out of the water. Our families donated 565 pairs of socks to our Socktober event. Thank you so much for your generosity!!
How much time do your children spend on YouTube ?
The Common Sense Census: Media Use by Tweens and Teens, 2019 is a big-picture look at how young people in the U.S. find entertainment and use devices. Beyond screen time, the report explores other critical challenges for families managing media use, from internet access for homework to unregulated, unrated online videos.
The results of this study show that our mission to ensure kids' digital well-being is more important than ever. Together with our partners and supporters, we will continue to research new ways to help kids and families thrive.
