I hope that you are ready for what is going to be a GREAT school year for the 2022-2023 Lake Creek HS Lions! We may have hired a few new faces, but I can guarantee you that we have brought in a group of incredibly talented professionals who are committed to your kids, to our campus, and to this district. What I value most in our team at Lake Creek is their commitment to serving our students and families with an exceptionally high standard of excellence.
As we enter this new school year, I have a humble request of our families: If you feel like something isn’t right or have a concern, please reach out to an administrator at Lake Creek HS and give us a chance to get involved. We are committed to working diligently to resolve any questions or concerns you may have. We have a full staff at Lake Creek HS that are eager to serve our families and continue striving towards being the premier high school campus and district in Texas. I look forward to working with you in challenging our students, your child, to become better each day. Enjoy your last few days of summer and I will see you August 11th.

Find your bus number
MISD Transportation Department has transitioned to a new routing system which includes a program called Traversa RIDE 360. We’re confident you will find this system to be helpful and informative in planning and tracking your child’s transportation.
The Traversa RIDE 360 website and cell phone app allows parents to access their child’s school bus number, drop off and pick up locations and times, confidentially. Traversa Ride 360 also provides the Transportation Department with the ability to alert parents about weather delays, school cancellations and if the school bus is running late.
We strongly encourage parents to download the app and review the website guidebooks below to learn how to begin using this new software.
To access the Traversa Ride 360 mobile application:
- Download the “Traversa Ride 360” app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
- When prompted enter the school district “Montgomery ISD”.
- You will need to “Register” to use the app by entering an email address and creating a password along with your name.
- You will receive a confirmation email at the email address you entered. Confirm your registration through that email and you are now ready to use the Traversa Ride 360 app.
- Log in to Traversa Ride 360 and link your student by using the + student icon in the upper right-hand part of the screen. You will need 2 unique identifiers:
1. Student ID# (no leading zeros) and
2. That student’s birthdate (no leading zeros and include the slashes ex. 3/25/2006)
- Repeat step 5 for additional students.
- Once you have linked your student in the app, you can click on that student to see their transportation information.
- Regularly check for updates as transportation information can change as more students are registered and added to our bus routes.
Please know that bus routes are always subject to change based on the number of students enrolled in each school and transportation zone. We ask that you remain patient with us as we work hard to make sure that every student is assigned to a stop and route as quickly as possible.
Keep our schools safe!
Preventing unauthorized access to campuses is a critical first step toward keeping our schools safe. As a school community, every one of us must be all in to ensure we are doing everything in our power to keep unauthorized individuals from entering a school building via side or back entrances.
#StopTheProp: An important component in these efforts is as simple as ensuring that every door that provides access to a school is closed and locked. Under no circumstances should a student or staff member prop open a door and leave it unattended, or allow someone to enter that should instead be entering through the main entrance. This year we are asking everyone in our district to join us in an effort to #StopTheProp by ensuring every door is closed and locked at all times. We must all remain serious and vigilant about keeping doors shut, at all times.
“Stop the Prop” stickers will be placed on each exit door of each MISD campus, reminding students and staff that entry without a key is to be done at the front entrance of each school.
Student ID Badges: Identification badges will be issued to our students this fall. The badges will be similar to those worn to identify our teachers and staff members. More information about student identification badges will be shared as the fall semester progresses.
Free & Reduced Lunch Update
Important update on School Meals
During the 2021-22 school year schools could offer meals at no cost to all students as a result of temporary program flexibilities provided by the federal government in response to the pandemic. These flexibilities have expired, and the U.S. Congress did not continue the funding needed to allow schools to serve free meals to all students in the 2022-2023 school year. Therefore, Montgomery ISD Child Nutrition must transition back to meal programs offered prior to the 2021-22 school year.
IMPORTANT: This year, parents must fill out an application for free and reduced meals. Online free and reduced applications will be available online beginning July 18, 2022. Click here to apply for Free & Reduced Lunch. Paper applications will also be distributed by mail.
If you have any questions please contact MISD Child Nutrition at 936-276-2600 or visit the MISD Child Nutrition website.
You can access student lunch accounts through MySchoolBucks.

Final Exam Exemption Policy coming soon....
Student Attendance Matters!
As we work to transition back to a “normal” school day and school year, we are asking for your help, starting now, in shifting our mindsets and stressing the importance of students being at school and in the classroom. Missing multiple days of instruction throughout each school year can directly affect a student’s comprehension of skills and curriculum, while also making it more challenging for teachers to ensure that there is sufficient time to get each student caught up.
We are not asking or condoning that you send your child to school sick. Illness-related absences are unavoidable at times. We respectfully ask that you work with us in making an intentional effort to have your children at school each day by planning appointments and family vacations around the school district academic calendar. If you must schedule a dentist or other appointment for your child, we ask that you make every effort to schedule it after the daily attendance snapshot time of 10 a.m. and always submit a medical note to the campus attendance professional.
Monitoring and enforcement of attendance for the 22-23 school year will be more reflective of our pre-COVID policies. Administration will be publishing the final exam exemption policy and attendance monitoring criteria in the coming weeks.

Reminders from Administration
Our 2022-2023 Student Code of Conduct will be available here.
Dress Code: Shopping for new school clothes this summer? Please remember hats and hoodies are NOT allowed to be worn in the building. Skirts/shorts/holes in jeans must be closer to the knee than the hip. No cropped tops are allowed. Students' midriff should never be visible. Pajamas and house shoes/slippers are also prohibited. We are seeing an increase in the number of students who are wearing clothing items that depict or refer to drugs and alcohol. Our student code of conduct states "Students may not wear clothing or have visible tattoos that displays vulgar, lewd, or obscene writing or images and may not wear emblems that advertise or depict tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or weapons. Pants may not be excessively baggy or hang below the natural waistline".
Social Media: Please continue to monitor your student's social media and online behavior. Studies have shown that teens spend up to 8.5 hours per day on a digital device.
Consider visiting Common Sense Media for helpful reviews on movies, books, games, podcasts, apps and much more.
Halo Detectors: To help LCHS combat the vaping epidemic, MISD has installed vape detector devices in locations throughout our campus to help us ensure our campus remains tobacco and drug-free. Administration will be investigating the alerts and consequences will be assigned to students who are found to be in possession of any prohibited devices or substances.
Nurse's Notes
Reminders:
A new Authorization for Medication Administration form must be completed at the beginning of each school year. Asthma or Allergy Action plans must also be renewed annually and signed by a physician. Forms can be found on the MISD Health Services page
If your student has an affidavit for immunization exemption that will expire over the summer months, please provide the school clinic with an updated form by the first day of school in order to remain in compliance with the Department of State Health Services Immunization policy.
