PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
WEATHER -- Cooler temps are here to stay. Students need to have a jacket to wear at recess. They can't wear a sweatshirt in school and then just wear that outside. Gloves and hats are also recommended. Some grades have an AM recess and temps are pretty chilly at that time.
BUS BEHAVIOR-- I have been getting a larger number of bus behavior write ups lately. Please go over bus rider expectations with your child so we can enjoy safe rides to and from school.
- stay in your assigned seat for the entire bus ride
- stay seated while the bus is moving
- talk with those in your seat -- no yelling
- keep your hands, feet and objects to yourself
- use kind words
If your child is ill, please keep them home and call school to let us know the symptoms so we can track what is going around just like we have in previous years. We need to keep kids home if they are sick so we are not spreading illnesses. Kids are getting sick from illnesses other than Covid right now. Please call your child's doctor if the illness persists.
Reminder that breakfast begins at 7:30. If your child wants to eat breakfast at school, it is free. Have your child at school at 7:30 so they have time to eat before class begins.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns you have about your child or school.

CPTO NEWS
CPTO is a group dedicated to helping the students of Abrams Elementary School.
The CPTO does this by putting on events and activities for the students, raising money through fundraisers and scrip cards to sponsor the many projects and events at the school. In the past, some of these activities and projects include: Field Trips, Movie Nights, Playground Equipment, Popcorn and Healthy Snack Sales, Teacher Appreciation Meal, Book Fair, Ornament for students, Weidner Center Shows, Dental Day, 5th Grade Recognition, and much more.
The CPTO meets the first Monday of every month (except July and August) at 6:15 pm in the library and also by zoom link. Everyone is welcome to attend. If meetings aren't your style, feel free to volunteer for any or all of the fun activities. Please consider joining us for a meeting, or by getting involved by volunteering for events. We need your help!
What is Scrip Fundraising? The CPTO sells scrip cards as a fundraiser for the many events that they sponsor. Scrip cards are gift cards that you can purchase to use at retailers that you frequently shop, like grocery stores, department stores, gas stations and restaurants. The CPTO sends out an order form twice a month. The cpto coordinator orders scrip cards at a discount which earns the organization a profit. This is a great fundraiser for the CPTO and every little bit can help out. The gift cards make great Christmas presents and birthday presents as well as a great budgeting tool for families.
The next CPTO meeting is Monday, November 1st @ 6:15 pm in the Library and is also available on zoom. Everyone is welcome to attend a meeting.
