Summer Reading
As a kick off to our Academic Advisory, we have chosen "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" to be the basis for great habits to ensure a great year. The summer reading assignment can be found here (click here) and allows students the ability to choose a reflective process to decipher what they have learned.
If you do not have your book, you can pick one up M-Th at the FCS/WMMS front desk (M-Th). Or you can access the online PDF (click here). Books not picked up by July 13th will be mailed (all existing FCS students received one prior to the end of school).
(Your summer reading assignment will be due Sept. 5th).
Why read during the summer?
Research consistently shows that students who actively read during the summer do not experience the same level of learning loss as those who do not read during the summer. Plus, it’s fun! Each student will demonstrate an understanding ELA skills and concepts through self-decided activities.
Can it be done???
Elective News!
Elective News!
The wheel is no longer (FYI: The wheel was a random rotation of electives that were assigned to students). You now have the option to choose (Top 3) your electives. You can join us on July 13th for a face to face meeting (2 sessions: 7:30am or 5:30pm) OR you can sign up on the elective form! (Click here). If you sign up on the form there is no need to come to the face to face meeting.
-Note: Electives will last 1 semester. (Choose your top 3 per semester).
-Every student will still have a PE/Health/Fitness/Weightlifting rotation each 9 weeks.
-Band: If choosing band, you will choose only band for the whole year. (Brass is in percussion).
