Biomass Energy Presentation
Our 4th Grade IMG Students at Davis Elementary School have been researching and learning about renewable and sustainable Alternative Energy Sources as part of our regular curriculum. Some of these alternative energy sources include Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Hydro Energy, Geothermal Energy, and Biomass Energy. In order to better understand Biomass Energy and all it has to offer, we enlisted the help of our resident Environmental Engineer, Mr. Winslow, (father of Teagen Winslow, 4th grader).
Mr. Winslow did a fantastic job explaining and demonstrating how Biomass Energy is a renewable energy source that is generated from Biological, Thermal, and Chemical conversion of biomass resources. Biomass resources include wastewater, sewage, municipal waste, plant, and tree leftovers, and animal residue. The students truly learned a great deal about Biomass Energy and how this renewable energy source truly can change the future of power and energy. Mr. Winslow’s time and efforts are greatly appreciated!
