Happy Holidays Westside Families! This is our last FULL week of school and it is filled with many exciting things including our Holiday Shoppe, 3rd grade field trip to the zoo, and the Winter Music Program. Details below.
This Friday, 12/16 will be EARLY DISMISSAL so students will be released at 1:15p. Please note that next week we will be open Monday-Wednesday; however all of those days are EARLY Dismissal due to the exam schedule for secondary.
This is the last week for Academic Support Program (ASP) for this semester. We will resume on January 17th.
As always, thank you for your support! Our office will be open Monday-Friday from 7:30AM-3:30PM. Please come on in if we can assist you in any way.

Holiday Spirit Days
- December 13th- Jingle All the Way! Wear jingle bells today :)
- December 14th- Class/Grade Level Holiday Theme (Teachers will share their theme soon)
- December 16th- Sparkle and Shine! Wear lights or glittery attire.
- December 19th- Reindeer Day! Dress like a reindeer and bring your favorite book to read during our "DEAR" time (Drop Everything And Read)
- December 20th- PJs and Polar Express! Wear your PJs to school (with appropriate shoes)
- December 21st- Ready for the Holidays! Wear your favorite holiday outfit to kick off Winter Break!

Students Shop for the Holidays!
Students can stroll through our Winter Wonderland to purchase gifts and treats for family, friends and even themselves!
This is a CASH ONLY shop, so please be sure to send funds in the provided envelope or your own ziploc bag.

Westside's Winter Music Concert- Dec. 15th
All orchestra, chorus and Jammer participants will be performing during this event. Please be sure to see information sent home by Ms. Hodge regarding report time, attire and more.
We can't wait to see this talented group of students fill our cafe with the sounds of the season!

Our Explorers are Learning Every Moment of Every Day!

If your child is tardy, they may not be granted access to that day's session. They will receive breakfast after their session. For Afternoon Sessions, we encourage you to send an extra healthy snack in for your child to enjoy after school before ASP begins. For car rider pick up, please have the GREEN TAG given to you when you registered and use the SIDE car loop. Students will need to be picked up promptly at 4:00pm. Biker/Walkers will be released at that time as well. PTO will continue to sell Spirit Shirts at all Westside events OR you can send in the money in an envelope with your child's full name, teacher name, material & color of shirt, and size desired. Cotton shirts (teal or black) are $10 and Dryfit shirts (black only) are $12.

Our BPS safety protocols require any adult on campus during school hours must be a registered volunteer.
Friday is Family Lunch Day!
We had a good turnout for our Parent/Student Lunch Day last Friday! Thank you to the families who joined us and we look forward to seeing more of you this Friday.
At this time, we must follow the parameters listed below per BPS guidelines:
- This opportunity will only be available on Fridays.
- Only adults on the approved pick-up list for a child will be allowed to have lunch with students. You will need to present your photo ID at the front office and receive a visitor's tag. When done, you must sign out before leaving campus.
- A designated area will be provided for the adult and student.
- Adults will only be allowed to eat lunch with THEIR child and we request only two adults per child please.
- Adults who are not registered volunteers will be monitored by school staff at all times.
- Adults will be permitted to be on campus for lunch for their child's 30-minute lunch block (times listed at end of newsletter for all classes). Once your child's lunch is over, we kindly as you to sign out and exit campus. If you have multiple children and want to have lunch with all of them, you must wait for additional lunch times in the front office, glass booth, or your vehicle.
- You may bring in food from outside sources for your child only. Any leftover drinks or snacks will not be allowed back in class however.
