PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kia ora koutou,

We're really just looking ahead to Friday this week and crossing our fingers the weather behaves for our Twilight Gala and Top Schools event. It's been a team effort right across the board. Whanau and Friends have done an amazing job organising the Twilight Gala and the classes have been busy producing all manner of products to sell. The Year 5-8 children had a run through of the Top School activities on Monday. It went down pretty well and has enabled us to make a few changes to each event. A huge thanks to everyone who is helping and we do hope to see as many people as possible on Friday

Ngā mihi nui,

Paul Jamieson

WELCOME

This week we welcome Blake, Paige, Keira and Mason R and their families to our school.

SWIMMING STARTS NEXT WEEK

Waipawa School Swimming

Swimming at the CHB Memorial Pool, Waipawa begins on Monday 28th November until Wednesday 14th December. Each class has a daily 30 minute slot to develop their swimming ability and water safety skills. This year we are lucky to have the support of a team of people from NZ Water Safety to work alongside teachers for 4 sessions per class.

It would be much appreciated if all clothing is clearly named as this makes returning clothes to the correct owner easy. Please could your child have suitable shoes for walking to the pools and a bag to carry their togs and towel. Goggles are optional. Swimming is part of the New Zealand Curriculum and we encourage your child to take part daily.

Kakano parents, please could you let either Jess or Karena know if your child is not confident in the water by Friday. We also need to know if your child is unable to undress/dress themselves independently.

Waipawa Touch Teams

The final games for our Waipawa Touch teams is on Monday 28th November. We have been so proud of the feedback coming to us from coaches, parents and even people from other schools, you have all represented us so well. Thank you so much for the effort you have all put in. Could you please get uniforms washed and returned next week, if you are using your Miniball uniform then please disregard this info, the end of the year is drawing close so let's wrap up the end of the sports year nice and easy. Again thank you to Mr J and the Whanau and Friends for subsidising our Sports Fees this year without you it makes some children unable to play sports as the cost can be horrendous, as a school we are very active and have some amazing talent which needs to be encouraged and supported.
