Happy New Year!
We hope you had a wonderful winter break spent doing all your favorite things. We are excited to be starting a new unit. We will be working on understanding perspectives, conflicting feelings, accepting differences and one of my favorites...showing compassion. These lessons help students develop skills that promote getting along with others which promotes success for the student in everything they do! Jalyn and I are excited to get the year started and look forward to bringing in the New Year with all these amazing kids at CGS!
Nurse Kayla News
Colds & Flu: Cold weather does not cause colds or flu! But the viruses that do cause them tend to be more common in the winter. Frequent hand washing and covering the mouth when coughing/sneezing can help prevent the spread of germs. Children 6 months of age and older are recommended to get vaccinated.
What to wear: Make sure to layer your clothing! Underneath a coat, dress in several thin layers covering all body parts. Boots, gloves or mittens, and a hat are essential during winter months. Shoes in addition to socks will keep your child's feet warm.
Happy Holidays to all!
After School Program (ASP)
A lot of awesome things have been happening with ASP! Last month we had Lights On Chili Supper, Store, Activities, and Annual Art Auction (items made by the HS art students, STUCCO, and NHS under the direction of Mrs. Starbuck.) We also had the opportunity to do some caroling at Prairie Senior and Colby Health and Rehab.
This month we will have Martin Luther King Jr. Activities on the 18th and Kansas Day celebrations on the 31st.
