Looking at Climate Change Differently
And here is where climate change can be good. We know from analyzing our staff climate survey during pre-service that the prevailing mood here at Cedar Grove has not been what we want it to be. I thank you for all your input on actions, big and small, that each of us, no matter our role, can take to improve our climate. Many of those ideas are reflected in our Climate Survey Action Plan that was developed jointly by administrators, team leaders, and our elected staff representatives. It is not an exhaustive list of the things we will do to improve out climate, but it does include specific steps we can all take to this end and measures to help us monitor our progress.
Early indications of an improved climate have already been noted; attendance at the Welcome Picnic was remarkable, WOWs are being submitted in large numbers, and examples of teamwork and going above and beyond to help one another abound. This all bodes well for a good year, and I am confident that our individual and collective actions will help return Cedar Grove to that school that every staff member wants to go to in the morning, raves about and wouldn't think of leaving.

- Be sure to join the PTA to show your support and thank them for all they do for us.
- All fundraisers that benefit schools, including crowd-sourcing ones such as GoFundMe and DonorsChoose, must adhere to the MCPS regulation governing fundraisers. The regulation includes requirements for principal approval of fundraisers and strict accounting procedures. If you are considering raising money for a classroom or program, please talk to me about these requirements and processes.
