From the Principal
14 December 2022
Dear Parents/Caregivers
This is my final school newsletter for 2022, and what a year we have had! With your support we have navigated our way through health and safety restrictions, and returned to a full programme packed with arts, cultural, sporting and celebration events. It is a credit to our awesome FCI whānau who have made this possible - thank you!
As this email also goes to whānau of incoming students for 2023, I would like to extend a warm FCI welcome to you; we are looking forward to getting to know you and your child. Please read this newsletter carefully (or keep this email safe for future reference) as it has important information for the start of the school year.
School Uniform
All of our school uniform, except for the sports hoodie, can be purchased from John Russell Schoolwear at 9 Moore Street, Howick. Students can choose to wear school sandals, or school shoes and socks in Terms 1 and 4. Please note that the school hat is compulsory during these hotter terms. We do not sell second hand uniforms.
Stationery Packs
Students need to arrive on the first day with their stationery requirements. All FCI stationery packs are available through OfficeMax. Stationery packs can be ordered online at www.myschool.co.nz.
Digital Devices
Teachers will establish the timeframes for bringing in personally owned devices and they will explain the agreements and setting-up procedures to ensure a successful start for the year. Please keep all digital devices at home until instructed by your child’s teacher.
While students may bring phones to school, these devices are the personal responsibility of the student. Mobile phones cannot be used during school hours or on the school site. If a student needs to phone home, they may ask to use a school phone.
Class Lists
Area class lists will be emailed to parents on Wednesday 25 January. This means your child will know the name of their Area, their homegroup number and name of their teacher. Our school map shows the location of the Areas.
Enrolments
Our school office will be open in the mornings from Thursday, 26 January.
