Cougar Connection
St. Columba Catholic School - News every Friday - 3/19/21
I think the overall highlight of the week was that our 2nd graders received their Sacrament of Holy Reconciliation on Thursday night! Big congratulations to them on this exciting milestone in their faith journey! In just a couple of months, they will be receiving their First Holy Communion! How exciting!
As we continue to move through the season of Lent and closer to Easter, I am continually reminded of Christ's voluntary sacrifice for all of us. As we get closer to Holy Week, we start thinking more about Christ's final moments on Earth and one that always stands out to me is the Agony in the Garden. It always connects with me how human Christ was in that moment. He still, however, made that active choice to save us all. Wow!
It reminds me that even if things may be difficult, we have to commit to what God is calling us to do. I pray that during this season of Lent, we continue to grow closer to God so that it is easier for us to make those difficult choices and continue to live our lives in reflection of Christ's love for all of us.
A close 2nd favorite part of the week was our Pi Day celebration on Monday. Even though it was a rainy day, we made the most of it! From reading stories, making city scapes, researching places in the world, and of course, the pie eating contest, it was a great afternoon! Shout out to Ms. Z, Mrs. Bunker, and Ms. Burke for coordinating!
Please keep our 6th graders in prayer as they head up to Camp Stevens in Julian next week for their 6th grade camp experience. We will miss them but we know they will have a blast!
Finally, somehow, the 3rd quarter ends next week. That means we are heading into the final lap of the school year! Please ensure that your child has completed all necessary work for the 3rd quarter.
Here is a look ahead at the upcoming events on campus:
- Monday, March 22:
- Tuesday, March 23:
