Motor Vehicles have permitted development of suburban areas on a large scale. Now, 90% of all travel in the United States is by cars and trucks.
Public Transit
Public transportation is cheaper, and more cost efficient, as well as less polluting. Only 5% of trips in the United States are made by public transit, and public transit is only found in very urbanized areas.
