Best Practices for Ending the Year in Schoology
There are three tasks that should be completed by teachers at the end of the school year in Schoology:
1. Prepare gradebook settings for fourth marking grade transfer to Focus.
2. Configure final exams properly (if applicable).
3. Review end of year checklist to organize and save Schoology resources for next school year.
1. Prepare Gradebook Settings
On May 23, 2022, the MP4 grade entry window opened.
On June 10, 2022, the grades from Schoology for the fourth marking and final exams, if present, will be transferred into the Focus SIS beginning at 5:00 p.m. To ensure that grades are transferred properly, it is important that all teachers review and confirm the Grade Setup section in Schoology for each course prior to this date.
Please use the links below to review and confirm the Grade Setup section of Schoology for all courses. This task can be done now.
· Schoology Gradebook Guidance Grades K-3
· Schoology Gradebook Guidance Grades 4-12
Staff members must belong to the Schoology Professional Learning in BCPS group to access the links. Please use the Schoology group join code HZB2D-H6MCT to gain access to these documents.
Grade entry closes for teachers at 5:00 p.m. on June 15, 2022.
Review End of Year Checklist
As the school year ends, the procedures and reminders outlined in the document Best Practices for Ending the Year in Schoology should be viewed and verified to ensure the accuracy of the Schoology grade pull into Focus. This document also reviews how Schoology courses and materials can easily be accessed next school year.
