Dear Patterson Families,
Your child has been extremely busy throughout the past fourteen days of school! Students are learning and using the 7 Habits of Effective People, beginning to learn how to express their feelings on the Mood Meter all while beginning their academics and winding up their first i-Ready math and reading assessment.
The Patterson staff believe in and value strong home-school communication. We want to continue to work as a team to support your child's learning. In the event you have questions with academics, behavior, and/or friendship issues, I would like to encourage you to always start with your child's teacher. The teachers know them best in the school setting. They see them all day and can generally provide quicker and more specific answers to your questions. We take pride in the fact that there are multiple ways your child's teacher has already provided to you if you need to contact them.
Thank you for continuing to help us achieve our School Mission:
Patterson Elementary In partnership with our community, promotes academic excellence for all learners!
Have a great weekend and Go Bronchos!

Important News from the Superintendant
Holly Area Schools will be introducing two districtwide newsletters in the 2018 - 19 school year; a Fall and Spring Edition. As part of the newsletter development, our district will taking part in a professional photo shoot on Friday, September 14, 2018 to capture incredible images of teaching and learning across our district. This will provide us with hundreds of beautiful photos to use in future newsletters and press releases.
Please know that parents who do not wish for their child’s image to be used on school and district media must uncheck the permission box in Skyward before September 14th. This option is available on Step 3 of the Online Verification process related to using your child’s image for district media/social media. You can also update the option by utilizing the Request Changes link on the Student Info tab in Family Access.

Parent Reminders
Just a couple of reminders about our drop off and pick up procedures:
Drop off:
- Students can enter the building at 8:40. Supervision is not available prior to that unless they are enrolled in Latchkey. Students should not be dropped off before 8:30.
- As we enter our 4th week of school, we ask that parents allow students to go to the cafeteria and/or their classroom by themselves beginning Monday, September 24th. If you are walking them into the building we encourage a quick goodbye in the lobby.
- Breakfast is served from 8:40 - 8:55 daily and is free for all students.
- Students are considered tardy if they are not in class by 8:55.
- Students will be marked absent for the morning if they arrive between 9:55 - 12:00.
Pick Up:
- School ends at 3:56 on full days and 12:00 on half days.
- Students who are picked up for the day between 12:00 - 2:56 will receive an afternoon absence and those who leave for the day after 2:56 will be marked tardy for the afternoon..
- Carline pick up is running smoother each day. Remind your child(ren) to look for their car while they wait.
Riverside Drive PickUp
Also, we have had many complaints from the homeowners that live on that street that driveways are being blocked. Please be courteous and do not block driveways. Also, cars should line up on only one side of the street to allow emergency vehicles access.
Medication at School
- If your child takes medication at school, forms must be renewed each year. You can find the forms on our website in the Community/Parents tab under Medical Information.
Free and Reduced Lunch Applications Due
Volunteer/Background Check Forms
- Volunteer/chaperone background check forms must be renewed each year. You can find the form on our website in the Community/Parents tab under Volunteer Form. We will also need a copy of your driver's license.
- Please allow four weeks to process
