Hello Conroe Tiger Families,

We have wrapped up the first three weeks of school and progress reports will be available this week. When viewing grades in the Parent Access Center, remember that a “Z” means that an assignment is missing and needs to be turned in to the teacher. Students please communicate any concerns regarding grades to your teachers. If you need additional help plan to attend after school tutorials or go to the Student Success Center. Students will gain or lose U.I.L. eligibility at the next progress report (first 6 weeks). Here are a few updates and reminders:


Operation Graduation - Parents-Guardians of the the Class of 2024, just a reminder: There will be an Operation Graduation meeting at McKenzie's BBQ on Tuesday, August 29th. The meeting will begin at 6:30. Parents and students are welcome! If you have any questions, contact Sara Ullrich@saradullrich@icloud.com.


Student IDs-SMART Tag - All students grades 9-12 are required to wear their ID while on campus. Last week we issued ID's to all students. Students who need a replacement ID because they lost their original will be charged $5. Temporary IDs will be $1. We will start charging on Tuesday, September 5th! If your child rides the bus they will need a SMART Tag. If your child needs a new SMART Tag, please click below:

Message From The Flare - Welcome back to school, Tigers! The yearbook’s annual pre-sale is going on NOW, this week only! Don’t miss out on purchasing this year’s yearbook for only $60! Prices go up to $80 beginning Monday, Aug. 28.

Parent Information Nights - We will be hosting Parent Information Nights for each Cohort. For Class of 2025, 2026 and 2027, you will have the opportunity to meet some of your child’s teachers.


  • Class of 2024 - Please join us for our Senior Parent Information Meeting on August 21st at 6:30 in the CHS Auditorium. We will discuss important information regarding your child’s senior year and answer any questions you may have!


  • Class of 2025 - Please plan to attend a Parent Information Meeting on September 11th. You will be able to meet some of your child’s teachers from 5 - 6 and our Parent Information Meeting will be held immediately following at 6:15. We will discuss important information regarding your child’s junior year and answer any questions you may have!


  • Class of 2026 - Please plan to attend a Parent Information Meeting on September 18th. You will be able to meet some of your child’s teachers from 5 - 6 and our Parent Information Meeting will be held immediately following at 6:15. We will discuss important information regarding your child’s sophomore year and answer any questions you may have!


  • Class of 2027 - CHS 9 Meet the Teacher/Parent Orientation - August 28th. Meet the teacher at CHS9 will be from 5:30-6:30. Parent Orientation will be held immediately following from 6:45-7:30. This will be a great opportunity to meet your students' teachers and gain an understanding of the importance of freshman year for your student.


CHS 9 PSAT – Conroe H.S. 9th Grade Campus has PSAT (Preliminary SAT) exams for students to purchase for $15. on the School Cash Online webstore. Freshmen wishing to take the PSAT in school on October 23, 2023, will need to purchase the exam by Friday, September 8, 2023. We have limited availability. Again, this is optional.

- Typically, we encourage freshmen in upper level math courses (Honors Geometry and Algebra II for example) to take this exam due to the level of math tested. Please visit this website link provided by College Board (https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/inside-the-test/math) to view the math expectations of the PSAT exam so that you can make an informed decision on whether or not this exam would be appropriate for your student at this time.


- Your student will have an additional opportunity to practice the PSAT exam during their sophomore year which will prepare them for the actual NMSQT qualification exam as a junior. Every Conroe ISD student will have the opportunity to sit for the exam for no fee their Sophomore and Junior year.

CHS 9 School Store - The Paw Print (the CHS school store) will be at the CHS 9 campus on Tuesday September 5th! Students can buy CHS spirit gear during this time. They will be able to visit the store during their lunch. Cash and Card are accepted.


Extracurricular Activities - We are so excited to gear up for the season of supporting our Conroe Tigers! If your child begins to struggle with truancy, tardies and/or behavior they may be at risk of not being able to attend extracurricular activities!


Dress-Code - Please remind your student that our dress code will be enforced. Shirts must be long enough to cover midriff. If your student is out of dress code they will be directed to change clothes.


Vapes in Schools - Texas House Bill 114 now mandates any student in possession of an e-cigarette/vape will be assigned mandatory DAEP placement. DAEP is the District Alternative Education Place campus. Students may be assigned DAEP from 5 days or longer. Please talk with your students about choices and consequences of this magnitude.


Student Bus Transportation - If your child will be riding the bus it is extremely important that you register for transportation. Please visit : https://www.conroeisd.net/transportation/ If your child will be utilizing the Late Bus any time this year, you must Register: https://apps.conroeisd.net/AlternativeTransportation/


Attendance Matters - It is important that your child is in class each day unless they are ill. In the event your child does miss school, please be sure to email our attendance office. Also, please remind your child to get with their teacher about any work they missed.

Campus Deliveries - We only allow deliveries from parents or family members who are on your child’s records. Food deliveries from food delivery companies such as Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc. are not allowed. Please be sure to communicate this to your child and know if food gets delivered they will be able to pick it up at the end of the school day.


Child Nutrition Information - Please visit the CISD Child Nutrition Website regarding free and reduced meals or the application. Remember school meals are no longer free to all students. You must fill out the application to be considered for eligibility.


CONGRATULATIONS!!! Please join me in congratulating the following student groups:


  • Conroe Tiger Varsity Football - Congratulations to our Conroe Tiger Football Team on their first win of the season on Friday! They beat Katy Paetow 42-7! The Conroe Tigers will play on Thursday, August 31st vs. Aldine Eisenhower!


  • Conroe Tiger Girls Water Polo - Congratulations to our Girls Water Polo Team! They placed 2nd in the Doc Holliday Water Polo Tournament. They fell short in the championship game but it was a close match against Cy-Ranch! Our Girls and Boys Water Polo Teams are back in action against the Woodlands on Friday, September 1st at 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm!

Important Information For Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors

Car Riders - Parents that will be dropping off their students, DO NOT drop your student off on Hwy 105! You can either drop off in the Preferred car rider line at Wilson Road and Longmire or in the front of the building. Please plan for delays with the car rider line. Our front doors will open at 6:45 and First Period begins at 7:15.


Parking Passes - Parking passes are only available for Juniors and Seniors who are eligible. If your child is driving to school please be sure they take care of everything they need to in order to purchase a parking pass. Students will need to park in their assigned parking spot!

Important Information For Freshmen

CHS9 Car Riders:

If you bring your student to school by vehicle, then please remember that the traffic loop in front of the Ninth Grade Campus contains two lanes. Vehicles can utilize the inside lane (left lane) to help alleviate traffic. When our duty personnel see students getting out of the vehicle from the left lane, we will stop traffic in the right lane allowing your student to cross safely. Please remind your student to check traffic before getting out of the vehicle. Parents, please continue to drive slowly and safely in the student drop-off area. We appreciate your attention to safety and patience every day.


Ninth Grade Students with Classes at CHS-Main:

My first block class is at CHS-Main, what do I do?

If you are a freshman and your FIRST and/or SECOND period class is at CHS Main, you are to report to the Main campus in the morning. If you have questions about your bus route from home to the Main Campus, then please contact CISD transportation at 936-709-7940 or CHS9 at 936-709-4000. You will ride a shuttle bus from Main to CHS9 at the end of FIRST and/or SECOND period.



My last block class is at CHS-Main, what do I do?

If you are a freshman and your SEVENTH and/or EIGTH period class is at CHS Main, then you will ride a shuttle bus to Main at the end of fifth/sixth period. Your day will end at Main campus. You will need to go home from the Main campus by car or by bus. If you have questions about your bus route from the Main campus to home, then please contact CISD transportation at 936-709-7940 or CHS9 at 936-709-4000.
