Storybook Costume Guidelines
All costumes should align with a storybook character and the student should be able to reference the costume to that storybook.
Costumes must conform to the APS Dress Code.
Costumes may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion, nationality, disabilities, gender, or individual (staff or student) at the school.
Costumes may not cause a disruption or distraction to the school program, (no revealing costumes, inflatable costumes, bloody costumes, etc.)
No weapons, toy weapons, or props replicating weapons (sorry no light sabers either!) are to be brought to school.
No costumes are allowed that would completely hide the identity of the student, i.e. Hazmat suit, gorilla suit, "Scream" character. Full face paint is not allowed. A costume shouldn’t cover the student’s face (we want to know who you are).No full face masks are permitted (they may not be worn OR carried)
Costumes may not show obscene materials or prohibited substances.
Any costumes deemed as distracting to the school environment will be required to be removed. If you are unsure if it is appropriate, be on the safe side and not wear it.
These guidelines apply to all visitors at both campuses.
