MESSAGE FROM MS. MONETTE, PRINCIPAL
It is hard to believe that we are almost to the close of the 2021-22 school year and summer vacation is right around the corner. We have had many activities throughout the school year when we could, and now to end the school year, will be celebrating and highlighting our amazing students.
On May 18th we celebrated 190 honor students who have maintained a cumulative 3.66 GPA this school year while also recognizing our outgoing 8th grade honors students. We are excited for what the future holds for all of our 8th graders as they head to high school. Our 8th graders demonstrated true leadership through the pandemic. These young people have learned how to navigate the toughest of times. I am confident that they will handle anything that they face in the future with integrity and resilience.
We are rounding out this year with many music concerts, a semi-formal dance for 8th graders and will end our year with a all-school picnic on June 6th. Please feel free join us and your child during their lunch time (A, B or C lunch) for the All-School Picnic on June 6th. When you arrive please have your ID and check in the main office. We would love to see you there!
On the last day of school June 9th, we will hold an all-school celebration with a large inflatable obstacle course, climbing wall, school dance and extra fun activities hosted by their teachers. Students will choose 3 options to attend that afternoon.
We also want you to be aware that on November 8th or earlier, Osseo Area Schools community is being asked to reinvest in district schools to maintain services and address growing needs in Phase I of Building a Better Future through a referendum election for Learning and Technology needs. Building a Better Future is a multi- year plan to service Osseo Area School scholars, families, and communities. In this bold, new strategic plan, the district is committed to providing a desired educational experience where the brilliance of each and every one of its scholars is enhanced. Phase I of Building a Better Future focuses on the district’s learning and technology needs. Phase II of Building a Better Future will focus on facility needs, but at a later time. The Osseo Area Schools community is being asked to reinvest in district school to maintain services and address growing needs in Phase I of Building a Better Future. PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE! To learn more about Building a Better Future, please visit www.district279.org/BetterFuture for more information.
As I close, I wish all of you a wonderful and relaxing summer, spending time with each other, family, and friends. Get out and explore this beautiful state and enjoy the many parks, trails, lakes, and activities our busy cities have to offer. I just may see you at a few of our local city parades. Thank you for your constant support of our school, our teachers, and our scholars.
