Dear Everitt Families:
Hooray for Fall Break!
We enjoyed meeting so many of you at in-person conferences on Tuesday evening. Thank you for the shout-outs to teachers and to your children. There is much to celebrate and our teachers were touched by your messages. We also enjoyed talking with many of you on Google Meet (or the phone when technology wasn't behaving well) on Wednesday evening as well.
If you were unable to attend conferences or chose remote conferences, we will send your child's CMAS and MAP scores home next week.
On Thursday, our staff gathered together to learn from each other, to create units and lessons together, and to talk about how to help students as they continue to navigate returning to in-person school.
You will notice a change in the bell schedule below. Our 7th and 8th graders will now have separate lunch times. Our leadership team voted to change our lunch schedule to allow for more time for 7th and 8th graders to eat in the cafeteria, to allow for the possibility of 7th and 8th graders eating outside when it is warm out, to ease the transition between the two lunches, and to provide our cafeteria staff with more time to serve lunch to each group. 7th and 8th graders will eat with their 4th period classes. All grades will now begin with lunch which will be followed by recess. Students will be required to stay in the cafeteria for 10 minutes (to prevent students from choosing not to eat so that they can hurry outside to play) and then will be released as they are finished eating to go out and play.
Our construction crew is taking advantage of Fall Break to complete more of the project. The wood paneling is going up in the entrance to the main hall and new lighting is going in as well. We can't wait to see it on Monday!
I hope you are having a wonderful break with your families. Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

Things Happening at Everitt!
Healthy Kids Colorado Survey
Everitt has been selected to participate in the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey (HKCS) this fall. Here is some information regarding the HKCS.
- The HKCS collects anonymous information from Colorado students in 6th to 12th grades about health-related attitudes and behaviors, including: unintentional injuries and violence; mental health; school safety and physical fighting; tobacco, alcohol other substance use; physical activity and nutrition; and risk and protective factors.
- In 2019, about 100,000 students participated from over 500 middle and high schools in Colorado.
- The survey is anonymous and voluntary. All families can opt-out of the survey using THIS FORM. The survey is also voluntary for students.
