Our Link Crew Members ROCK!
Last week, Ms. Anne Hunter (HS Math Teacher) and Mr. John Barton (HS Counselor) took a group of current Link Crew leaders to Hershey High School for a Student Link Conference. The leaders were able to connect with Link Crew leaders from other schools and build their leadership skills. They are excited to bring what they learned back to West York because . . . AWESOME - It's What We Do!
The Future is Looking Colorful and Bright for These Trimmer Students
Students in Ms. Emma Geiger's class at Trimmer Elementary wrote letters to their future selves. They asked about the future and also shared two hopes or dreams they have for themselves. They practiced writing statements on how to reach their dreams and asked their future self questions. To publish their writing, the students designed postcards and put their letters on the back. The postcards will be sent to them when they are seniors in high school.
You've Earned BARKS - Now What Are You Going to DO?!
WE'RE 'GOING' TO DISNEY!
Ms. Kelly Lurz’s class at Wallace Elementary reached 100 BARKS (BARKS are earned for demonstrating good Bulldog behaviors!). As their reward, the class celebrated by having a DISNEY DAY! They wore their Disney gear, “rode” rides (thanks to YouTube), took pictures with characters, had Mickey ice cream bars, and of course, ended the day with the fireworks show! Way to go! Keep earning those BARKS!

Community Support for Bulldog Pantry
When Ms. Nicki Stiger, English teacher at the High School, saw that Ms. Meredith Atiyeh, owner of SelfMaid, was collecting donations to benefit local schools, she quickly shared the information about the Bulldog Boutique and Pantry. Ms. Atiyeh stopped by recently with a car full of donations of items for our pantry for the holidays, many items given by her staff and clients. "We just wanted to do something directly for the kids," said Ms. Atiyeh. Pictured to the right (L-R) - Ms. Amanda Burt, Ms. Meredith Atiyeh, and Ms. Nicki Stiger.
Thank you, Ms. Atiyeh, for your thoughtful community outreach!
If you or your business would like to support the Bulldog Pantry, please contact Ms. Amanda Burt via email at amburt@wyasd.org. You can also visit our Bulldog Pantry webpage here for a list of suggested pantry items.
Auditory - Check! Focus - Check!
Last week, Lincolnway Elementary school nurse, Ms. Melissa Franklin, got creative while doing 3rd grade hearing screenings. She asked the students to focus on a school health poster while she screened them. After they returned to their classrooms, she quizzed them to see if anyone could remember all the details of the poster. The students who remembered all four items from the school health poster received a prize. Check out who won!
The MONSTERS Have Arrived!
A few Blue & White issues ago, we shared with you a collaborative project between Ms. Amanda Bentzel's kindergarten class at Wallace Elementary and Ms. Mercedes Gomez-Myers' 8th grade FACS students at the Middle School to bring to life the friendly 'monsters' designed by our young Bulldogs. The FACS students then went to work to bring these designs to life.
Recently, our awesome FACS sewers delivered the monsters! Pictured below (L-R - sewer-designer): Violet Keller with Isabelle Wilterdink, Alexis Avery with Emersyn Plank, Kelsey Jacoby with Grae Blaszczak, Kailyn Brown with Shiloh Denmark, and Wilmarie Machado Castro with Casen Mullins.
