October 2021
Longfellow Elementary
Notes From Mrs. Heckenlaible....
Hello Longfellow Lion Families,
It doesn’t seem possible that we are closing in on our first quarter of the 2021-2022 school year. Our Lions have settled in nicely and persist each and every day. We cherish that we can be in school and enjoy the opportunity to progress our learning. We had a great homecoming week and the Lions enjoyed the dress up days. It was great to see so many participate (I think they love pajama day the most and not so sure that isn’t a favorite for the staff as well😊)!!!
One of the highlights of October is our Parent/Teacher Conference night. We look forward to visiting with you and discussing the progress that you child/ren has/have made. This night allows us to continue building a strong partnership with our Longfellow families. We hope to see you all on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Please watch your child’s backpack for your conference time.
Yours in Education,
Mrs. Heckenlaible
Longfellow Elementary Principal
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT COVID!!
Parents/Guardians –
Please note that when you see the COVID numbers, in Dr. Graves’s email notifications, that those represent all cases from our school. They may have been quarantining at home and have not been COVID positive while in school. The state still reports those numbers to Dr. Graves and he reports them out the parents.
If a child or staff member would test positive while at school, you will receive notification through the email you provided in Campus. If you do not have an email listed, please enter that in your registration or feel free to call the school, 605.995.3092, to add it.
We also try to have the classroom teacher send out the notice/letter for the classroom through their parent communication tool (DOJO, SeeSaw, Remind, etc.). Please make sure you have signed up with your child’s teacher. Conference night is a great time to ensure your information is up-to-date.
Thank you,
Mrs. Heckenlaible
