Dan has the NIMS accreditation team coming on Friday to recertify the site. NIMS was formed in 1995 to develop and maintain a globally competitive American workforce. Today, NIMS is the industry standard for training and skill validation within precision manufacturing. NIMS has a stakeholder base of over 6,000 metalworking companies in partnership with five major industry trade associations: The Association for Manufacturing Technology, the National Tooling & Machining Association, the Precision Machine Products Association, the Precision Metalforming Association, and the Technology and Manufacturing Association. Dan will be in touch with us if he needs anything particular on Friday.
The First Grading Period, the First VVAL Football Win, and the First Days of Fall
We parents know that as we get older, Time moves faster. There is an equation out there somewhere that might confirm this, but we also have as evidence the fact that the first grading period has already ended and we are more than 1/6 of the way through the school year. How about that!
In this update, check out the success of the Trojans varsity football squad on the road at Justin-Siena, as well as video of Phil Tacata receiving his recognition (and $2000) for runner up Sonoma County Teacher of the Year, an update on A+, a feature on PHS graduate Shelby Pope, and much more. Remember that Monday, October 15th is a Staff Development Day with no school for students.
Though it is now officially autumn, it looks like a warm week.
Have a great week!

Girls Golf is off to a fast start, running their record to 4-0 after a dominating outing versus Justin-Siena. Lilly Catarozoli led the way with a 48, with solid scores also turned in by Channing Matthews and Olivia Zimmerman. This week, the unbeatens are on the road at Napa and host American Canyon on Thursday.

Girls Volleyball played an amazing match versus Vintage two Thursdays ago. A five set back-and-forth contest that eventually went to the Vintage team. Hannah Dillingham led the way with 23 kills. The league looks like it will be this way all season with many competitive matches to come. They also dropped a 5 set heartbreaker to Casa last Tuesday and a tight match to Justin Siena last Thursday. This group is getting stronger with each outing and by playoff time, there won't be a tougher team to face in Division 3 than the Trojans! They have an important road match versus Sonoma on Tuesday...

A+ Update
As promised, students will have access to see other teachers beyond 2nd and 5th period starting this Thursday, September 27th. We have developed an online appointment system that allows students to make appointments with teachers with 24 hour notice. (thank you, Mr. Franklin and Mr. Napoli for all your work on this!). Department chairs have seen the system and we will roll it out to all staff at Wednesday's staff meeting. We will also use Trojan Live to inform students how it all works. More to come on this!
