Many Blessings
"He who thanks but with the lips, thanks but in part; the full, the true Thanksgiving, comes from the heart." ~ J.A. Shedd
Holly Academy staff and Board of Directors wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Have a peaceful and lovely day with your Huskies and a restful mini-break! It's great to be a Husky!
Health Guidelines
We have had an uptick in COVID cases and subsequent quarantines in the last two weeks. We need your help to keep our Huskies healthy.
- If anyone in your household is getting tested for COVID, your HA student must stay home until you receive a negative result.
- When you receive a positive result for either a household member or your Husky, please contact us immediately. During the school day, call the office. In the evening or on the weekend email an administrator - all administrator's emails are found on the website. It is imperative that we are made aware as soon as possible to mitigate risk to close contacts.
- Most families are very understanding when we call to quarantine, but occasionally we are treated with anger and disrespect. Please be understanding that this pandemic environment has caused us to have duties that we never thought we would face.
- Keep your Husky home if they are unwell.
Thank you for helping us to teach and learn in the safest environment possible!
Now that you received your child’s report card last week and parent teacher conferences are next week, this is a great time to remember all the ways you can assist/support your child at home with their academic success. Although teachers make sure to connect with parents in a variety of ways, such as email, text messages, and phone calls, one of the best ways, as a parent, to stay up to date with current assignments and assessments happening in the classroom/s, is to connect regularly to Skyward. This platform allows you to see your student’s scores and will give you feedback on missing and/or late assignments/assessments. Regularly accessing this information keeps you in the ‘know’ while creating dialogue between you, your child, and the teacher, where needed. If you are unsure of how to utilize Skyward or properly navigate it, have no worries! Next week, a survey will be sent to all parents, via email, asking if you would be interested in attending a training on how to use Skyward. With enough interest, a virtual session will be held the week of November 29th. More information will follow once feedback is received. Please be on the lookout for this survey! In the meantime, we hope to see you at parent teacher conferences!

December Breakfast/Lunch
The breakfast and lunch order form for December was sent out to families earlier this week via Skyward. All orders must be placed by 10:00am on Monday, November 22nd. At that time the link to the form will no longer be available.
Due to supply chain issues, menu items are subject to change.
All pizza orders for additional slices that were ordered for November have been reconciled. Emails were sent to families if a balance is owed. If you have a balance due and have not paid this by the time the December orders are due, those students will only be eligible for 1 slice of pizza for the month of December.
Step 1:
Please use the link below to place your breakfast and lunch orders through the end of December. A separate form will need to be completed for each child. If a form is completed for a child more than once, we will use the first submission unless we receive communication from the parent/guardian that the first submission should be voided for their child. Once you submit your form you will receive an email that shows all of your selections. The sender of this email will show as Google Forms. Please check your spam folder.
You must make a selection for every meal. You will have multiple choice options for each day.
All breakfasts and Tuesday through Thursday lunches:
1. None
2. Menu item w/ White Milk
3. Menu item w/ Chocolate Milk
Pizza Days (Mondays and Fridays)
1. None
2. 1 slice w/ White Milk (no cost)

December Breakfast and Lunch Order Form
Step 2:
If you choose additional slices of pizza for your child(ren) you will need to make a separate payment on RevTrak (preferred method of payment) or send a check or money order to the school.
For those families that choose to pay via RevTrak, below is the link to the RevTrak account that will be used for payments. You must pay for each child separately as these are tracked by homeroom teachers. If you are new to Holly Academy or have not used RevTrak in the past, you will need to follow the steps in RevTrak to create an account. A new account setup will be completed once you choose to checkout. Please do not pay under any other account in RevTrak other than Food Service.
If you are paying via check/money order, you may pay for all students on one check or money order. Please make the check payable to HOLLY ACADEMY, label the envelope as Pizza Lunch, and ensure that all student names and homerooms are listed on the memo line of the check or money order, or provide a sheet stating this information.
All payments are due by Wednesday, December 1st.
Sample payment amounts for pizza orders (pricing is only for the December dates):
2 slices on Monday/Friday for all applicable days: $6.00
3 slices on Monday/Friday for all applicable days: $12.00
2 slices on Monday only for all applicable days: $3.00
3 slices on Monday only for all applicable days: $6.00
2 slices on Friday only for all applicable days: $3.00
3 slices on Friday only for all applicable days: $6.00

Husky Helps Pantry
Earlier this school year our Huskies donated items to help replenish our Husky Helps Pantry. We are excited to open the pantry to any families in need. We have been patiently waiting for the installation of a door buzzer to allow families to enter the school near the pantry. However, like most things these days, labor and material shortages have continued to be an issue.
If you are in need of any assistance, please reach out to Angie Cryderman at crydermana@hollyacademy.org to schedule a time for you to gather any items you need from the pantry. She will let you into the building near the Husky Helps pantry. If you are not comfortable entering the building, you can also email her a list of items you need, and she will gather these items and let you know when they are ready and you can do a curbside pick up. Please know that she will keep your identify confidential.
In addition to the food items in the picture, there are also cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, and other personal hygiene products.

Merry Christmas from all of us at HAYA!!
Lil' Shopper's Shoppe
The Lil’ Shopper’s Shoppe is returning this year December 7th-9th! This is where students have an opportunity to shop for inexpensive holiday gifts for family and friends. The parent letter, which will include your students' shopping day and time, and envelope will be coming home on November 29th.
This holiday event will be our first foray into having multiple volunteers in the building. Should you wish to volunteer for the Lil’ Shopper’s Shoppe, please understand that you must follow the Oakland County mask mandate for schools. Volunteers will help set up and assist students in the shop. If you’d like to volunteer, please sign up below. If you have any questions, please email the PTO at PTO.hollyacademy@gmail.com
TOOLS 4 SCHOOLS FUNDRAISER
To earn these FREE awards we simply have to collect as many register receipts as possible from September 1, 2021, through March 31, 2022. Ask your friends and relatives to shop at the sponsoring supermarket identified below and save every receipt.
Send the receipts to school with your student as often as possible. The school will count the value of the register tapes collected and redeem them for great educational awards that benefit your child.
